The NESP Climate Systems Hub invites you to Australia’s next national adaptation conference in Perth from 23–25 July 2025.
As part of our commitment to a climate-resilient Australia, the hub supports this conference through the Climate Adaptation Initiative. This initiative fosters collaboration among researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to develop practical climate adaptation solutions. Learn more about our work here.
As Australia’s preeminent climate adaptation event, the conference focuses on climate vulnerability, impacts, and adaptation. It offers a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, network, and strengthen the growing adaptation community.
The three-day program features plenary sessions with key voices, panel discussions, workshops on specific challenges, and thematic presentations by delegates.

Abstract submission
The Climate Adaptation 2025 organising committee invites authors to submit abstracts for:
- Oral presentation in break-out session (12 minutes + 3 minutes question time)
Suited to complex, more detailed projects or activities that are complete and/or have significant lessons or outcomes to share. - Lightening talk in plenary (3 minutes)
Suited to a simple message, a clear actionable insight to share with all conference delegates. Can be supported with a poster or weblink for more information. - Interactive session (90min)
Pitch your idea for a workshop or interactive panel session. You must list all proposed presenters or speakers and ensure they intend to register and attend the conference. We are looking for diverse, cross organisation or sector co-designed sessions that are innovative and creative. - Poster display (whole of event)
Summarize information or research concisely and attractively to help publicize it and generate discussion. - Adaptfest video (<5 minutes)
Have your short video or animation showcased at the conference film festival.
