Changing El Niño–Southern Oscillation in a Warming Climate

August 17, 2021

ENSO is one of the most influential processes on the global climate. This review synthesis the current understanding of observed and projected changes of multiple aspects of ENSO, including indications of systemic changes emerging from model experiments. The review identifies uncertainties and prospects for improved quantification and detection of ENSO drivers, such as Sea Surface Temperature, through high-resolution modelling.
