This training module guides participants through four key steps to effectively implement processes and practices that support climate adaptation work.
- Climate adaptation introduction
- Climate adaptation step 1: Scoping
- Climate adaptation step 2: Understanding vulnerability and risk
- Climate adaptation step 3: Adaptation options and plans
- Climate adaptation step 4: Implementation and monitoring
Climate adaptation introduction
In this video, we introduce the idea of climate change adaptation and explain different types of adaptation. We also introduce a typical four-step adaptation planning framework to help consider the idea of adaptation planning in the following 4 videos.
Climate adaptation step 1: Scoping
In this video, we look at the first step of a typical four-step adaptation planning framework. We talk through considerations of scale, engagement, planning outcomes and climate scenarios.
Climate adaptation step 2: Understanding vulnerability and risk
In this video, we look at the second step of a typical four-step adaptation planning framework. We talk through the concepts underlying an integrated vulnerability and risk assessment, as well as different levels of assessment.
Climate adaptation step 3: Adaptation options and plans
In this video, we look at the third step of a typical four-step adaptation planning framework. We look at the concept of adaptation responses or ‘options’ and consider how they might be assessed and sequenced.
Climate adaptation step 4: Implementation and monitoring
In this video, we look at the final step of a typical four-step adaptation planning framework. We consider the different outcomes of monitoring and evaluation to consider.
