Yes, it’s that time of year again, and 2026 is just over the horizon. Before we race ahead, I want to pause and thank you for your commitment to climate action throughout 2025. If you’re subscribed to the NESP Climate Systems Hub newsletter, it’s because you play an important role in shaping the changes that prepare us for a different future.
This year, we shared this newsletter more than 70,000 times, and nearly half of you opened it. We hope it’s been a valuable resource, bringing you not only our latest research but also insights from across Australia’s climate ecosystem.
Our final research plan has been full steam ahead in 2025. The current portfolio of 13 projects reflects the NESP way: collaboration with key stakeholders at every stage. From working with software developers on the ACCESS climate model, helping Australia make informed decisions about extremes, hazards, and compounding events, to exploring how we adapt to changes already impacting our natural environment, we’ve been focused on delivering science that matters.
As many of you take a well-deserved summer break, all of us at the NESP Climate Systems Hub wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season. Rest up, we have a big year ahead in 2026!
