In response to increasing concerns about coastal erosion and flooding, the Ramblers Reef and Dell Eco Reef projects were developed to protect vulnerable coastal areas. Designed to provide protection while minimizing environmental impact, these artificial reefs have since been recognized as leading examples of coastal adaptation.
This case study takes a deep dive into the innovative design, implementation, and outcomes of artificial reefs to uncover the key factors that contributed to their success and how they can inform future adaptation efforts along Australia’s coastlines.
