Dr Brad Murphy is the Data Wrangler for the Climate System’s Hub, responsible for increasing the impact of data outputs and ensuring they are managed so they comply with the FAIR data principles: Findable, Useable, Accessible, Interoperable. He also leads a project to deliver synthesised and tailored climate information for stakeholders. He is a Senior Research Scientist at the Bureau of Meteorology.
He led the Bureau’s Climate Data Services for 7 years, providing advanced data services and support to connect customers with information to support their decision making. Before that he was deputy theme leader for the Pacific and Australian Climate Change and Adaptation Program, leading communications, outreach and capacity building activities in Pacific countries, and conducting research on climate variability and its impacts in the Pacific. His research background is in climate variability and change and its impacts and has a PhD in Meteorology from the University of Melbourne.
