Adapt Land&Sea: End-user engagement report

April 2, 2025

To ensure the Adapt Land&Sea online platform meets the needs of land and sea managers, an extensive end-user engagement process was conducted across Australia. Through seven in-person workshops and an online session, 184 participants contributed insights on the challenges and information gaps in climate adaptation for biodiversity management.

The consultation revealed that while adaptation planning is increasing, many biodiversity managers face barriers such as limited institutional support and resources for implementation. Key themes from these discussions are shaping the platform’s content and structure, ensuring it delivers relevant, practical, and actionable adaptation information.

By incorporating real-world input from those on the frontline of biodiversity management, Adapt Land&Sea aims to bridge the gap between planning and action—helping decision-makers turn adaptation strategies into on-ground impact.
