With an abundance of climate data available, decision-makers need clear, accessible guidance on where to find the most relevant information for their needs. Between 2021 and 2024, the Climate Systems Hub worked closely with stakeholders to understand how climate information is accessed, used, and applied in decision-making.
This report explores key findings from our research, including the challenges decision-makers face—such as climate literacy and navigating complex data sources—and the potential role of a climate information gateway in streamlining access to trusted climate resources. By testing new approaches and engaging with government knowledge brokers, we’ve identified insights and recommendations for improving the accessibility and usability of climate data in Australia.
