NESP Climate System’s Hub researcher Claire Mason presented on AdaptLog – An Adaptation Catalogue for Conservation to over 100 online attendees at the Queensland Wetlands Network Forum focused on climate change and the implications for wetlands. The Network is made up predominantly of natural resource managers, but also environmental practitioners, researchers, local government and state government departments involved in wetland management.
NESP Climate System’s Hub’s AdaptLog is an online, searchable repository of over 400 conservation interventions for climate adaptation. Adapt Log is a tool to help conservation managers access and understand information on a wide range of practical adaptation options.
Claire gave a live demonstration of AdaptLog showing them how to search through the database and ended with a request to add their own story to AdaptLog. There was positive feedback that this was a useful tool, acknowledging that only a small number of the examples were in Wetlands. There was interest in boosting the number of wetlands examples and interest from local government in far north Queensland, keen to raise the profile of their adaptation work.
