As coastal flood risks become more frequent in the future due to climate change, the National Environmental Science Program Climate Systems Hub is supporting a research project, aiming to make complex data and information more accessible and actionable.
To inform the Victorian use case, the project team collaborated with Melbourne Water, the Catchment Management Authority and site coordinator of the Western Port Ramsar Site, to identify interested stakeholders and deliver a knowledge exchange session.
As Site Coordinator, Melbourne Water works closely with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, the Site Coordinating Committee and many stakeholders to deliver requirements under the Ramsar Convention which include the delivery of the site Management Plan including planning and monitoring, and tracking and reporting against the Ramsar Ecological Values.
An in-person workshop was held at Melbourne Water in May 2026.
