New insights into how Australia emerges from drought

April 2, 2025

Australia’s climate is highly variable, and understanding how the country recovers from drought is crucial for water management and climate adaptation. Scientists from the hub have identified eight distinct rainfall patterns using archetypal analysis. These patterns reveal how different regions transition between dry and wet periods, improving our ability to predict and prepare for future climate extremes.

AdaptLog – An Adaptation Catalogue for Conservation

January 7, 2025

AdaptLog is an online, searchable repository of conservation interventions for climate adaptation. AdaptLog includes many instances of novel and transformative approaches to conservation under rapid climate change. By collating these interventions, we hope to facilitate learning between practitioners, and seeding productive collaborations.

Navigating climate portals

November 18, 2024

Accessibility and interpretation of climate data can vary between sources. Numerous sources of climate change data in Australia vary in presentation, coverage,
scale, and time periods. This guide helps users select the appropriate information for their needs.

Everything you need to know about the latest in climate modelling

November 18, 2024

Climate models are becoming more advanced and can simulate an increasing range of climate processes. These improvements are the result of having more observational data to calibrate the models, a better understanding of atmospheric processes and interactions, more sophisticated analytical techniques, and accelerating computer capabilities.

2024 National First People’s Gathering on Climate Change

November 15, 2024

In October 2024, Australia’s National First People’s Gathering on Climate Change, the only of its kind in Australia, enabled climate scientists and First People to exchange ideas on how to respond to the threat of climate change.
